Booking Conditions

Prices: Charges are reviewed on the 1st April each year. Any advanced booking will be adjusted to prices applicable at the date of use (not the date of booking).

Site Opening: The site is open from 6pm (18:00) on Friday evenings until 4pm (16:00) on Sunday afternoons during term time. During school holidays opening at other times is possible by arrangement with the Site Manager.

Cancellation: Cancellation within 10 days of the booking.

Child Protection Code of Practice: Jessopp Road is a Scout Campsite and as such all users must abide by the Scout Association's Child Protection Code of Practice. This code is contained in the Young People First card (the yellow card). It must be understood that any contravention of the Code of Practice could lead to The Scout Association initiating its own reporting and referral procedures.

Insurance: The campsite is covered by third party liability insurance. Members of The Scout Association and non-members taking part in activities, are covered by insurance for the activities they undertake, in line with The Scout Association’s Policy, Organisation and Roles. If you are a non-Scout organisation, you must ensure you are adequately covered by insurance for any specific activities you are delivering. If you are a non-Scout organisation, you are confirming you accept these conditions when booking.

Group behaviour: This is the responsibility of the group leadership team. Campers not showing respect for our neighbours may be asked to leave the site and it will be the responsibility of the leaders to arrange for campers to leave. It is expected that there will be quiet between 22:00 and 07:30.

Vehicles: Vehicles and contents are left entirely at the owner’s risk. All vehicles must be parked in the designated car parks unless otherwise instructed by volunteer staff.

Arrival and Departure

Arrival: The site is usually opened by volunteers; therefore, you must arrange your arrival time so that we can attend to give you access. This is usually 5.30pm but can be arranged with the volunteer team.

On arrival the volunteer will give you a short tour to show you all the key features. No campers should go on site without the knowledge of your leadership team. If your group is being brought to the site by parents, then the young people must be met by leaders. Visitor's cars must be parked in the car park but please consider that the car park can only fit 10 cars, so you may wish to operate a drop off point at the end of the track.

Departure: It is expected that all campers will have left the site by 6:00pm on a Sunday to allow our Volunteer Staff to clean and close the site.

*note that Jessopp Road is not a public camp site but it can be used for day events i.e. children’s parties, diet clubs etc.
